It would normally be a bingo night, but seeing as we're housebound we are looking forward to this documentary on RTE 1 on April 20th at 9.35. It used to be a case of Abbeyfeale having one of the highest number of pubs for a town its size, now we have more hairdressers and barbers per head of population than anywhere else in the country, and the documentary, Abbeyfealegood explores the many stories behind these doors, can't wait to see it.

For any fans of Daoirí Farrell or indeed anyone who may have missed out on his gig at Glórach in February: Daoirí is holding a free, live virtual gig over on his Facebook page at 10pm. It might help to ease the cabin fever and you can get as close to the screen as you like without having to social distance!
CLOSED - GLÓRACH THEATRE
Out of an abundance of caution and with the well-being and safety of the Public and Glórach's own volunteers very much to the forefront of our minds, we have taken the decision to close the Glórach Theatre, Abbeyfeale with effect from 3pm today, March 12th and to remain closed until further notice. We will advise all users when we consider that it is safe to re-open the Theatre. Our production of The Iron Harp, scheduled for early April, has been cancelled.
Best information is that by early April the spread of the virus will have moved to the Government's categorisation of "DELAY" status and as the safety and well being of our patrons, cast & crew is paramount, we felt we should err on the side of caution and hence our decision to cancel. However, we will not be deterred from our decision to stage the play and, as such, we will get back in harness in good time to hit the boards in March of 2021. Abha Bhán Drama Group opened the new season at Glórach with two superb performances of SIVE this weekend. It was an honour to have such a wealth of talent in our midst and a standing ovation on both nights paid tribute to the themes of love, loss and desperation so well portrayed. Many thanks to our loyal patrons as always and indeed to the many new faces we had the joy of meeting. 🎭
Celebrate Nollaig na mban by availing of the opportunity to win the rollover Jackpot, set at €560 if won at or under 53 numbers. Fifty two consecutive weeks of bingo last year, and hopefully we can replicate that in 2020 starting this Monday, January 6th.
